Over a hundred employees from the mall administration, Department Store and Hypermarket in SM City Baliwag and SM City Marilao will take part in the annual bloodletting event to mark the onset of the gift-giving season.
Dubbed, “Dugo kong Alay, Dagdag Buhay”, the activity is in support of the Voluntary Blood Donation Program spearheaded by the Department of Health’s Philippine Blood Center (PBC) and the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) in collaboration with SM Foundation Inc. (SMFI) and SM’s Medical Services Division.
On October 30, the SM City Baliwag workforce will take part in their blood drive share which will be held at the Department Store Training room. Meanwhile, volunteer employees from SM City Marilao will likewise conduct their bloodletting activity on November 4.
Prior to the blood extraction, volunteers will undergo a medical interview, physical check-up and blood tests to qualify as a donor. A lecture on blood awareness, its function as well as the health benefits of donating blood will then follow. Successful donors will also receive a PNRC Blood Donor Card.
The blood donation program is a joint effort of SMFI, PBC and PNRC in ensuring a sufficient blood supply in public hospitals across the country.
